GURUDWARA NIRMAL KUTIYA
After long discussions with Sant Gurvinder Pal Singh, Ar. Udayveer with his knowledge on Sikh Architecture history revealed that Sikhism was not having any particular sign of architecture in their Gurudwara. For instance, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born, it was originally a residence & due to lack of knowledge unluckily it couldn’t be restored & hall of Gurudwara came with elements of architecture which was prevalent at that time mostly derived from Muslim architecture.
Ar. Udayveer thought a conclusion that he would design this Gurudwara which would create its presence internationally as when this Gurudwara was designed; Modern architecture was prevalent in the country, so he designed a Gurudwara with all the modern elements which would depict Modernism. So, after 100 years when future generation will see the building, they can easily judge today’s fashion of architecture through the building. Modern elements like cantilever, straight lines with travertine stone cladding & big glass on façades are given. Dome was added on the top to create focus & add an extraordinary element which would depict this building as Gurudwara.
